For every action there is a reaction and this is no truer than in the world of porn. As we all take to pirated downloads more and more, in affect stealing from those porn companies we rely on to make dirty movies the companies are trying to prevent our getting their stuff for free on sites like Orgasm.com. It could be argued in fact that less stringent control of downloads would even occur if not for the viewers rabid and rapid need and ability to get stuff for free. It is as if indeed on action does cause a reaction, and in this case a opposite one.
Porn has always been with us but not until recently has the audience been able to gain access to X-rated fare in a way where they have no had to pay for it. The digital advances we have seen, especially online, have closed the gap between commerce and facility and now anyone of us can have any one of anything we want and pornographers are running scared. Ever aware they are being stolen from but at the same time knowing they need the Internet that makes this stealing possible, it is very much a caution of biting-the-hand-that-feeds you for the people who make porn and a taking as much from that hand for us who love porn.
This push and pull will continue of course until one side emerges victorious or can become so competent at what they do the other will see no recourse and no retaliation…which is nearly the case now. The winner will dictate terms and completely determine how the marketplace acts and what it can and cannot sell….which is what is actually happening. And when the power-that-used-to-be’s reaction won’t much matter to the power-that-is’s action…which is how impotent sex video makers feel yet do not want to admit to in the face of downloads.
It used to be that time would tell but in this day and age time is upon us, all the time.
